  11. Pete is obviously genius. And we're begging for a US tour. Any luck? PLEASE. He is so very needed.

  12. Hi Lytias, I am sure you'll be sniffing about here to see if your comment is published .... tough tatties loser!

You should have read this before wasting your time .... "Leave a comment. Be as cheeky as you want but if you're rude I'll bar you for being a tool!"

Didn't bother did you so I didn't post your comment because, yes .... you're a tool. I also didn't post it because it was deeply boring. Ha Ha Ha you loser!

Now scuttle off and write something rude to me again, I'm sure you will. Try and make it more interesting this time and perhaps maybe even try and make some sense.

Hope you're feeling angry now and also strangely impotent because you won't get approved. I fully expect another dull missive from you so fire away, get it out your system and then fuck off because a third post would make you a stalker and you wouldn't want that on your list of character defects (or perhaps as I suspect it already is).

I'd like to say I'll be thinking of you fondly on our sold out UK and European tours .... but I won't so I won't.

    Byeeeeee!

  23. The artwork is impressive. Is that a birdbath with two doves behind the woman?

  24. Babybear, could you please tell the Parlophone folk to label the Artist Name of the tracks on Peter's album as "Peter Doherty" and not "Pete Doherty"? I'm afraid the mandatory R won't stick with the masses unless they re-label it properly. I'm thinking ahead to the artist name that will be used in the iTunes store, etc.

    Thanks so much!

  25. Hi Tessa, where have you spotted this?
    bb.

  26. @Babybear: 1) The official free download of "New Love Grows on Trees" from the EMI website! 2) The Clash magazine music streams. 3) A general impression judging from the name they've been using to market this album (e.g. the official Facebook page), which led me to make a formal request to you here.

I hope it will get cleared up on time!

  27. Whoops, sorry, that last comment was me (Tessa), I was logged into the wrong account...

  28. Thanks Lucinda. Let me try and explain as best I can ....

Sitting comfortably children? Then I'll begin ....

Once upon a time there was a boy called Peter who wrote some songs and played his guitar. He did quite well at this and found himself famous and lots of people started liking him and his music. These people who liked him listened to his records and his music and read about him and went to see his concerts and watched the telly when he was on to hear the music that Peter made.

At the same time though there were some other people who heard about Peter but they didn't listen to the music they just listened to their friends, all of whom seemed to have an opinion, and read their 'news'papers all about this boy called Pete and the papers just kept on writing and writing about this bad boy called Pete who did bad things and was nasty and would eat their babies if they were not careful enough when they were looking after their babies ..... etc etc etc

    Bah blah blah .... However.

    1). EMI should change this.
    2). So should Clash.
3). The official Facebook page and other such things, slightly different .... this page (and the myspace page etc) were originally thought of to promote the album by calling the pages Grace/Wastelands. However, marketing being marketing, it is far better to promote it under Peter(s) name as more people will hit on it this way. The real truth being that the majority of the public know Peter as Pete and this is what they will type in. Simple as that really.

I know this leaves me wide open to be castigated by the 'we want to keep Peter to ourselves' brigade but so be it.

It is to a certain extent pandering to the masses but on the other hand it helps to promote the record .... You promote the record and hopefully more people listen to it .... The more people listen to it the more people might realise there's more to Pete(r) Doherty than the tabloid image ....

    Anyway .... what's in a name?

    Hope this explains.

  29. Thanks for taking the time to write that lengthy explanation. I had inferred the common sense justification behind the name on the Facebook page (which I for one find reasonable enough), but I thought the official Artist Name labels at least should be rectified. Drag the listeners in with the "Pete" marketing, convert them to the lovely "Peter" music. You just have to make sure that the music is actually labelled "Peter," or else the plan falls apart.

I don't think you ought to be castigated at all for your position. Thanks for all your work Babybear.

  30. Piping in to say that the image paradigm shift is more important than the name paradigm shift. People are lazy and will draw the first conclusion that's easiest to reconcile with their world view, and "Pete", after all, is shorter. :)

Looking forward to the official videos, babybear et all.
